Do you think gamifying social media would be interesting? For example daily quests, like get 10 likes, follow 2 users, etc. completing a quest would give you some points(like karma) and each month you'd have to complete like 40 quests to earn a badge(similar to Duolingo).

u/PracticalAd2631 I believe there is an opportunity here. Been thinking about something similar. I think if this can be linked to adding value to the consumer of the post, for example, they can still get inspired, bring a smile to their face, learn something in addition to doing the things that make them earn points. So that the goal is not just to rack up points.

There’s a company called tropee that does this. Basically a gamified linktree.

Social media is already engineered to steal all of your attention in a sneaky way. I don’t think we need anymore incentives 😅

Nah. It feels insulting to my intelligence when platforms do this badge type “congrats on achieving this” shit. The performance metrics themselves are enough for me to want to chase more progress (saying this as a marketer with a focus in advertising)

It could be fun short term, but I feel like it might also make social media feel even more like a grind. Cool idea though Kinda like Duolingo streaks but for engagement.
