  • Finding a new owner for my Facebook group due to growing too fast

Posted by seohelper on December 31, 2020 at 9:09 am

I started a Facebook group for students working towards being teachers. I made it for free to help others and in 2 weeks it’s boomed to 900 people. It’s growing every day. I want to keep it free to help people. I filter people from the fb group to study groups chats on discord. It’s low maintainence, but I can’t continue to own it. I didn’t intend for things to be popular beyond 100 people and expected it to die off, but at this rate it’s not dying off. I want to find someone who will take it over ASAP, but isn’t going to charge people to join. Any advice? I just want to get rid of it.

for refernce – I run several big fb groups

    two ways:

    – post and ask who will take this over and choose from the results

    – look through the postings if you can find the rare individual who provides value to the group and offer it to them via message.

you can then make them moderator and remove yourselve afterwards.

    alternatively do what I do:

    – make strict rules

    – put all new post on approval level or make it your postings alone

    – think about the funnel for what you do with the chats and simplify the workflow

Overall it is a decision to think about: what do you want out of this, is this of value to you and if not, as you said get rid of it.

My wife would be a good fit. She’s a recently retired High School Principal.

    Lemme know.
