Finance Professional Looking to Learn SEO Fundamentals Where Should I Start?

I'm not looking to become an expert overnight, but I want to build a solid foundation in SEO basics.
What's driving this interest: I realize that understanding SEO could actually complement my finance work. Many financial services, accounting firms, and fintech companies need better online visibility, and having both skill sets could create unique opportunities.
My questions for this community:
1. What are the absolute fundamentals I should master first? (keyword research, on-page optimization, technical SEO basics?) 2. Are there any free or affordable resources you'd recommend for someone starting from scratch? 3. How long realistically should I expect to spend learning before I can take on small client projects or build niche sites? 4. Any specific niches where finance knowledge + SEO skills would be particularly valuable?I'm willing to put in the work and learn properly rather than looking for shortcuts. I'd appreciate any guidance from those who've been in similar situations or successfully transitioned into SEO from unrelated fields.

1. Learn what ranking factors there are.
2. There are plenty of free resources, every SEO wants to swing his bat by showcasing how much he knows.
3. SEO is building content and creating links to that content, easy, building niche websites, not so easy.
4. The finance industry would be a great niche.Summary: Your finance background can help you in SEO by creating helpful finance content, and then using your credibility to find others with websites that are prepared to link to the content you created.
