FB & IG Ads No Longer Performing? Apple the cause?

Posted by seohelper on July 1, 2021 at 3:58 pm

I run an online store and my revenue has dropped from my FB & IG ads. I was generating revenue per day at a positive ROAS but now my revenue is almost 0 even though it is peak season for my products. I am running the same ads I was running but the performance is horrendous. I assume it’s the apple ios update, but is there anything I can do? Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Everyone’s experiencing these issues. The FB Conversions API helps a bit, but not too much.

We’re all in the same boat

I have pixel installed, conversions api, I also track separately with utms and google analytics

And I see the same thing on ALL of my clients’ accounts, including mine

It dropped from 5-10X roas to 2-5X roas…

Yeah, I stopped running FB ads completely in May. Waiting till they figure out a solution to this.

Things like the iOS updates have been happening for years… and in all platforms (e.g., Google’s SEO algo, CCPA, GDPR, Election restrictions, etc…). As far as FB, here are things you can do now to help develop contingencies against outside market forces:

    * Quality Assurance: CAPI, AEM, Domain Verification, etc…
    * Load conversions as offline events on FB to see if it’s missing any attribution.
    * Track spend/revenue on FB/IG against total business ROAS.

Last note: the FB algorithm has been working as it should. I mainly see improper campaign architectures are starting to crumble… naturally.

I’m experiencing the same issue with my ecom clients. Lead generation accounts haven’t been too bad.

Hi – Can you provide KPI numbers and a little more background? (market, ad account organization, budgets, ad creative cycles and any changes on the landers). We’re not seeing the same as you, and run multiple ecomm stores.

We were getting anything from 4-6 on AVG, now 1.5-2. Financially not worth it anymore

I have an Ecom business and we spend 7 figure per month on Facebook with multiple teams. Usually when a team or two is down the other teams will pick up and average out.
May we were still doing ok. Suddenly from the 2nd week of June everything just suck. Revenue drop more than 50%. This is the worst I have seen since 2016 and I don’t even know FB can fix it this time. This might be due to iOS 14.5.

Devils advocate here- the ads are still performing, there’s just less visibility? If you’re risky, do a test- benchmark daily revenue, transactions same period last month, turn off ads for two weeks, see if revenue, transactions decreases in analytics or the CMS?

Same here. My suggestion is not to give up and to just invent better ads… they’ll work fine. And short ones
