FB & IG ads for beauty brand

Posted by seohelper on November 10, 2020 at 8:25 pm

Is there anyone that has had success with running ads for an online beauty brand on FB or IG

We’ve been trying to get it right for ages now but we never seem to be able to get anywhere.

Is social proof on the ads really important? The only ad we had that ever got regular sales was one with tonnes of likes and comments. The rest of them just get a couple of sales then fizzle out after a few days.

We do… social proof does help! Maybe it is your creative that needs work and have more ads that convert.

If its a good ad it will just gain engagement without you having to pay for likes and comments. Just keep on testing new creative until they start getting purchases.

Try using social influencers instead. There’s a higher ROI with the right creative and influencer or page.

I run two high budget beauty clients.

What messaging are you using? Customers buy beauty products for many different reasons and making sure you have the right messaging to resonate with the maximum number of users within your audience is vital. Pair this with some broad audiences and continuous testing and you’ll be on the right track in no time.

Seems simple, but taking a step back and considering the motivators/barriers really helps.

Examples of barriers/motivators and how that may influence your messaging:

“Why would I buy online when I prefer shopping in a store?”
    – Free & fast delivery/online exclusive/convenience

“Im unsure if it will work”
    – Product claim (“92% said…”)

    “I don’t know exactly what I want”
    – Product benefits

“I’m unsure how a purchase fits into my routine”
    – How-to/step by step routine (good in carousels too!)

    “I want a sustainable/vegan skincare routine”
    – Sustainability/issue centric messaging

“I’m skeptical about buying without hearing the opinions of others”
    – Product reviews

“I don’t want to commit to a full-size product before I know it works”
    – Highlight trial kits/intro sets

“I want to get good value for money”
    – Offers/promotions

There are tonnes more of these, especially when you enter seasonal periods (gifting messaging becomes popular). Have a brainstorm session and then test what works.

    Hope this helps 🙂

What are your expectations with paid media? Do you want to make a profit on the front end or would you be willing to break even acquiring a customer? I would say if you have a good brand with many products, you can get a lot of repeat customers, and your ad costs for existing customers is much cheaper.

I would say you need a really engaging and eye-catching video to stop the scroll and get the initial attention and you can also retarget the people who have watched 50% and 95% of the video.
