Facebook Event Categories
Posted by on May 11, 2021 at 9:53 pmI manage the social media accounts in the education sector, and I am really struggling with Facebook event categories. A lot of the events at the business I work for are usually conferences, lectures, or information sessions. None of the categories when creating an event really match these events, and now I see Facebook has removed the “other” option. There is no category for “education”, “information”, or even “discovery” or something. Does any one else struggle with this, or think Facebook should allow customisable event catgeories, or even come up with a new, more expansive list? This is incredibly frustrating from a marketing and promtional perspective.

Yeah, the list is extremely short sited. I manage social media accounts for environmental education and have always used “other”. Sad to hear it’s gone now.
