Facebook ads aren’t counting purchases correctly

Posted by seohelper on April 21, 2020 at 7:59 pm

I’ve had 18 purchases on my Shopify store (a lot more abandoned carts) since I’ve been placing ads the last few days. However, Facebook ads is reporting I’ve had 54. I think it’s counting my abandoned carts as purchases, how can I fix it?

What is your look back window? It could be counting a broad date range. Other possibility is you may be looking at assisted conversions vs. last click conversions.

Facebook automatically include View-Through Conversions in the Purchase reporting column. View-through is when someone sees your ad and makes a purchase later from another source. So I guess in your case there are 18 actual purchases and 36 view-through conversions.

This is an attribution problem. Facebook automatically counts view through conversions.
