Extremely high CPM, how to drop it? (facebook ads)
Posted by on March 9, 2021 at 11:21 amHey guys, I just checked my facebook ads CPM for cold traffic interests (audiences range from 2 million to 15 million).
My CPM since recently have skyrocketed, today minimum CPM on those interest ad sets is $60 and up to $90.
for 2 months I never had such high CPM.
What is happening?
What can I try to lower it?
New creatives?

$90 is “a little” too high. There are many things you can do to lower your CPM. You can improve the content of your ads, limit the frequency, try an even broader audience, use videos. I can’t be more specific without looking into your account.

We have been changing our creative and found that helps.

Look at your CPC too: The CPC might be very acceptable (<$1 for example, whatever your threshold is). Or just run 10-20x the ads using display ads 🙂 I use [https://www.adacado.com](https://www.adacado.com), facebook and google search ads as combination to prevent this price.

Facebook CPMs are going to be really high until they officially roll out their ios14.5 changes. Right now they are limiting the inventory that they show to iOS users, causing an artificial supply shortage leading to higher rates.
