one of my friends has made a tiktok account that posts clips of a certain twitch streamer, he has got hundreds of thousands of followers and has earnt thousands from the creator fund. i therefore decided to do the same but with another streamer lol.

i was just wondering what the worse that could happen from doing this (earning money off of other peoples content), clearly stating that we do not own the videos and directing all the viewers towards the streamer to promote them.

Well, he could be sued for theft on intellectual property and be hit with not only actual damages, but also punitive damages.

Also, technically, as he agreed to the TOS for TT that he was creating his own content, once his account hit a certain threshold of earnings (I think it is $2,000) he has committed Wire Fraud under US Federal law and could be facing up to … 5 years?

But hey, if it is his first offense and he pleads, he is likely to only got around 6 months at a Fed Prison Camp 🙂
