  • Domain name same as keyword that has traffic beneficial?

Let’s say “the best chicken soup” is a keyword with a lot of traffic. And thebestchickensoup.co is still available and .com isn’t.

Will the .co domain name be benefitting from the traffic from the keyword?

Honestly, most people only check to see if the page is from their own nationality or not when shopping online – Canadian’s checking for a .ca for example. You won’t be penalized by Google for not buying .com. And yes, keywords in the URL are beneficial. ~~Be warned though that Google may not suss out the keyword if it is part of a larger block of letters/words. Google might just see “thebestchickensoup” instead of “the best chicken soup”. I’m not sure how closely it reads the root domain vs page URLs (where you should be adding ‘-‘ between words to help G read it. [the-best-chicken-soup])~~.

    Edit: evidently I was wrong.

The advantage comes when getting links, if your domain is the same as the keyword you’re targeting the anchor text doesn’t need to be “gamed”.

My answer is Yes! It helps in ranking but as you said the traffic for that keyword is very high so it will take you to work very hard. Let’s assume if you have only goal to rank on that particular keyword you can go for it or there are lots of an alternate options for you, instead of selecting keyword targeted domain you can go for business oriented domain which will help you in long run. If your plan is for long term goal just see your self, if everything is under control go for keyword targeted domain.

My Best Tips For Ranking: .com Domain (know as Top Level Domain) which gives you more power than .co.
