Does Page Speed really affect SEO?
Posted by seohelper on May 11, 2021 at 4:34 amI was wondering is this really a thing in SEO… so I searched for a few keywords in Google, and the results amazed me.
Almost 55% sites that were actually ranking in Google have a really poor Page Speed score. But they are still ranking in 2021.
I really need a proper answer to this. You can DM me as well.MapHopeful4809 replied 4 years, 10 months ago 1 Member · 34 Replies -

GuestMay 11, 2021 at 4:47 amAccording to my knowledge, Page speed really affect SEO because when people will click to your website then if it will open fast then visitors will love our website and spend good time on it otherwise most of the website who has poor page speed then It will take time to open , So that condition visitors will left our website and through this way our website’s Bounce rate will increase.

GuestMay 11, 2021 at 4:54 amPage speed affects customers. With now-a-days short attention, they will not wait for your website to load. The overall experience of the website is impacted.
I always check the bounce rate of the page which has bad pagespeed with the good ones. You will get a perspective of how your market is responding.
It’s a parameter for SEO, it definitely plays a role in competitive keyword space where the pagespeed score is considered and ranking matters.

GuestMay 11, 2021 at 4:57 amThe easy answer is that page speed affects SEO. Page speed is a straightforward ranking factor, a fact that can be better understood using Google’s speed refresh algorithm. However, speed can also affect ratings indirectly, increasing the bounce rate and reducing settling time.

Page speed matters, but it’s not about satisfying every single little metric that would push your site into the green on PageSpeed insights – you literally just need to have a website that is fast enough, responsive, free from intrusive popups and operates over HTTPS and you can still rank fine.
Page speed is a lightweight ranking factor and is going to be even when CWV drops, but it still matters because Google wants to provide their users with a “good experience” so they say.

Looks like the pages ranked were good at other factors -

GuestMay 11, 2021 at 5:15 amPage speeds affects user experience. If a site is too slow then I just close the site down and go to another site instead. That is very important to SEO, if the user stays on the page for long and interacts with many different elements of the site

GuestMay 11, 2021 at 5:18 amIt definitely does. And the thing that I like about page speed optimization is that it immediately improves the entire site, permanently (more or less)

GuestMay 11, 2021 at 5:22 amI have increased the page speed of my website from 20 to 100 and it did nothing with my Google rankings.
So I think it depends. When all of your competitors have great Page Speed Scores, you also should have.
And I think it is really good for the conversion rate on your site. So if you can fix low hanging fruit, you should definitely fix. If you already have a site that loads very good for your visitors, there are probably a lot more things to do for your SEO that make more impact.

GuestMay 11, 2021 at 6:04 amIn fact it depends on.
Google uses algorithms to rank pages. What does it mean?
Google’s system -> How’s page speed?
a) -> It’s good -> See to other factors
b) -> It’s low -> See to other factorsThere is no direct link between factors and ranking (or SEO performance).

GuestMay 11, 2021 at 6:04 amYes, It does. It’s an important factor SEO and google also includes this factor in core web-vitals.

GuestMay 11, 2021 at 6:28 amPage speed WILL NEVER BE MORE IMPORTANT than high quality content. Page speed is for user’s experience. As long as your implementing best practices then you should be fine. Your main focus should be On-Page SEO (high quality content) period.
I mean if your website is loading in 5, 10, 15 seconds then you’re just a negligent website owner lol.

GuestMay 11, 2021 at 7:07 amIt’s not a major ranking factor, it’s a tie breaker

GuestMay 11, 2021 at 7:10 amYes it does, think about it from your POV. When’s the last time you waited for a slow website to fully load? ?
