  • Does changing the title and slug of your post/article effect SEO?

Posted by seohelper on November 7, 2020 at 10:11 pm

For example. I want to eventually rank for a general high trafficked key work. However, it would be way easier to rank for a very specific related keyword. So I put that easier keyword in my title. As I start to rank for that word and want to switch to the more generic one I would want to change to title. Does this effect SEO?

Sorry if this is a dumb question.

As soon as Google reindexes the page, they would base their rankings on the new content.

Yes it does. Not sure what you mean by slug maybe you’re referring to the h1 of the page. But yes a change in content or metadata can affect ranking.
