Does anyone know why affiliate sites got beat up with the December 2020 google update?
Posted by on February 23, 2021 at 10:55 pmWe noticed a huge drop in our traffic once this update took effect. We’re trying to figure out how to recover our numbers. Does anyone know why affiliate sites got hit so hard?

It wasn’t about affiliate sites. It was a core update and many sites got affected. Read the official blog post about core updates for more information. It’s called “What webmasters should know about Google’s core updates”. You’ll find it on Google’s Search Central Blog.

Google managed to weaken the dropped domains effectively weakening PBNs.
