Do FaceBook friend suggestions mean that person was on your page?
Posted by on February 19, 2021 at 1:12 amSo I’ve heard from a couple of my friends that if you get a Facebook friend suggestion odds are that person was looking on your page. Whether it’s Instagram or Facebook since they’re connected. I recently got a friend suggestion of a guy I used to talk to that I haven’t in a while and I’m wondering if he’s been on my page. Anyone know if these conspiracy holds truth?

Maybe they searched for you.Maybe they were connected to the same wifi as you, like at an event or party.
Maybe you both use a nickname for a mutual friend. Maybe they added Facebook to a new phone and it added their contacts. Maybe they recently added 60 new friends.Facebook has a lot of reasons for suggesting the connections it does. Having someone view your page is definitely going to be one of them, but it is NOT the only one at all. Safest not to assume it is.

I thought it was someone looking at your phone or phone number. I noticed that whenever i got someone’s phone number (new number in my contacts) they appeared in the friend suggestions

Same goes for when someone is talking about you. Like when you say pineapple then pineapple ads start showing up, for example.

They use our credit card info as well as our location…if we were at the same concert or live in the same area…there are many ways they take our information and use it however they like!

Facebook friend suggestions are people who either share a mutual friend, or live in the same town, or have a common interest, or work at the same company, or went to the same school, etc.
It’s all about the algorithm. If you and the other person share something, you’ll see the person as a suggested friend.
