Creating a forum to learn SEO

I have ZERO SEO experience…
Are forums a good way to learn practical SEO skills, or am I better off creating a blog?
I’ve done online courses and qualifications. Now I’m just in need of some hands on experience.

Said it before here and will say it again – no ammout of blog learning can substitute for experience. You at some point have to learn how to accomplish what you want inside functional systems, learn the audience you’re targeting and make some mistakes you have to correct if you want to get good.
First thing I’d ask interviewing anyone isn’t a Moz pop quizz or whether they got a certificate from SEMrush. I’m asking them to describe a situation they had to fix and how they did it.

same questions I have in mind, just finished a course for SEO and totally still at lala land.. newbies wannabes like me would appreciate help and guide from your experience guys.
