Cons on placing multiple banners and formats under the same Ad-set? FB

Posted by seohelper on October 9, 2020 at 6:03 pm

    Hi,

I’m running some Facebook Ads campaigns for a startup. It’s useful to say I’m a beginner on the matter. We have different banners and several formats (jpg, gif,mp4) for those banners. We’re debating between :

    1) Create only one ad set and place all banners and all formats inside it.

    2) Create one ad set for each banner and include different formats inside it.

    3) Create one ad set for each format and include all banners inside it. For example, placing all video banners on one ad set, all gif’s on another one, etc.

Are there any cons regarding option 1? Would you recommend either 2 or 3?

    Thanks!!

Create multiple ad sets – for each banner one ad set. in this way, you’ll a/b test which banner is the best performing. once you find it out, invest your budget in that banner, turn off other ones and create new content to compete with your winning banner

so i’d say – either go with 2, or even add 4th option where you’re also a/b testing different formats(why? – because .jpg is usually a cheaper ad type then gif or mp4, but with lower engagement. however, sometimes it drives better results, sometimes it does not – its best to test it)

let me know if this helps and I can help further

also, make sure to optimize for the right goal – conversion – instead of doing something like traffic, engagement or landing page optimization

If you have too many ads, most won’t get out of the learning phase
