  • Common salary for full time community manager?

Posted by seohelper on June 6, 2021 at 3:23 pm

I’m currently in the interview process for the community manager for the US side of a social media app with 20 million accounts. I have about 1-2 years experience in the social media realm, what would a fair rate be in case they ask what range I’m looking for?
    Thank you!

Depends what state you’re in. I think Glassdoor has some fairly accurate ranges. You can ask them what the range for the position is when they ask you what salary expectations are.

Its way too hard to tell, based on what you’ve described. You won’t really know if you’re getting ripped off til you go in and do the work for a month or so. It could be a casual chill environment where you do a baseline of tasks, hang out with cool coworkers, and get paid less. Or, it could be a work environment that’s overdemanding or bosses that micromanage or bosses with whacked expectations.

In a very basic ballpark fashion:

$15-$20 per hour if they’re telling you everything to do and you handle the tasks.

$20-$30 per hour if you’re responsible for creating campaigns, coming up with content and ideas, and also able to concretely track your effectiveness.

Are you strategizing, managing, implementing, or some combination of the three?

    Where are you located?

    What’s your educational background?

How many years of experience do you have? Entry level, 3-5 years, more?

All that to say, there’s no way to tell with the information you’ve provided.
