Careers in Social Media that are NOT content creators/influencers?
Posted by seohelper on April 9, 2021 at 1:54 amI’m aware of fields like influencer marketing, but are there any other worthwhile social media avenues that don’t involve all of the attention that comes with being an influencer?

GuestApril 9, 2021 at 8:47 amI’d also echo social media marketing! I’ve started marketing my app and just realizing how big of a business the marketing part is, and if you like optimization and running tests, then it’s pretty fun.

GuestApril 9, 2021 at 1:57 pmGet a degree in a communications-related field (journalism, PR, etc) and that’s a good stepping stone into a career as a social media marketer and communicator. From there your world will involve online brand reputation, crisis comms, content creation, organic social strategy, paid social strategy, community managing, etc. All of that can help springboard you into a career in just about any corporate communications or marketing-related role.

GuestApril 9, 2021 at 2:12 pmMost jobs in social media are not influencers. If you have an idea of what you want to do, it’s easier to work from there.
Strategy – Typically highest paid, leadership position
Execution – wide-range of jobs from internships to managers
Analytics – Growing field, high demand

GuestApril 9, 2021 at 6:46 pmAll decent agencies should have social media departments with account management, creative direction, community management, etc… The smaller the place, the more hats each individual wears. Like others here, I wear multiple hats for a number of clients.
