  • Can you influence sitelinks?

    Our main competitors have drop down sitelinks, but our site has a carousel.

    Is there any way we can influence this? I told my boss there isn’t a way, but he is insistent that we should be able to code it somehow

    No, there is not. Ran into the problem with numerous clients who get mad because they think there should be. The only way I know of it to make sure your site’s hierarchy are clean (no duplicates, etc.). The only way to remove them is to noindex, block, canonical, redirect, etc. which signals to Google to not include them.

    Internal links are a really strong signal for determining sitelinks. You have to change your navigation and many other internal links, but it works.
