Can we bring back actual content?
Posted by on November 29, 2025 at 4:18 pmI get everyone wants to be an influencer, and everybody wants to be able to make money from Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and not have to work, but a lot of people havs stopped making actual content to do this.
Like don't get me wrong I do follow people that I see making actual content, but there's also people on my FYP that are just begging for people to stay and watch their video even though they aren't doing anything. Like you're cutting an apple and rinsing the cutting board in the sink. If you want to make money from content, I feel like you should actually make the content.
Like are we so far gone with the brain rot, that this is the content we're settling for?? Uncreative people begging us to sit and watch them do nothing??

The internet, is *OVER SATURATED* with ‘content’ not including AI content, that anything organic, gets buried beneath the noise.

If they are demoing how to cut an apple or the steps of how to cook something with apples in it, that’s legit content. If they are making an artistic or comedy to political statement with cutting an apple, that’s legit content. If they want to video themselves cutting an apple and post it on social, that’s content.

I kinda miss when people just posted cool stuff they cared about, not chasing clicks

The algorithm is also at fault btw, that ultimately decides what to show first

Substack is much better for ‘content’.

Fr I’m a photographer on Instagram or I was currently dealing with the bs ai suspension stuff happening but it sucks the only way to really grow is by making dumb satire rage bait content you can’t grow very easily by making good genuine content for pictures. I remember back in the day when you would grow from pictures and videos were hard to grow with I miss those days

I kind of feel like we are living in a Truman Show like scenario. We have all become the product and the salesmen.

I agree with OP actually. I’ve noticed a new “trend” on Instagram where people/pets are like “I thought I’d be an influencer by now, please follow me” or “I’m losing followers. Please like me” and honestly it’s really off putting and lazy
