  • Can tracking who someone just followed help you spot content trends?

Im aware of the sub rules about follower buying/growth tools etc, im not asking for a promote or link drop. just trying to dig into mechanics and strategy.

Ive been experimenting lately with an instagram tool (RecentFollows) that lets you see new follows almost in real time. Not to boost numbers or cheat the system but because i wanted to know if being able to see who someone just followed help you reverse engineer their interests or content pivot?

For example, if an influencer starts following 5 new accounts in a niche, does that hint at their next content direction? or could you spot network clusters (people who follow each other) and use that to inform your niche targeting? or are there privacy/ethics risks we should watch out for when using a tool like this?

Im not here to say it’s perfect or always useful, im trying to see if it has merit when used thoughtfully. Has anyone else tried something like this? What worked, what failed and what surprised you?

Yeah, tracking new follows can hint at shifts in content focus or niche moves. I use IGScraping.com and tools like Social Blade to spot patterns.
