Can someone explain to me if Google dynamically ads keywords to my bidding list?
Posted by on November 4, 2023 at 7:46 pmOn four accounts we manage, I’m just doing an audit and found these. Each account had new keywords for things we don’t want to be associated with, but match our target terms. Example free X near me or free X available now.

Google doesn’t automatically add keywords. These must have been added (possibly by mistake) by someone who has to the account.

Google has a recommendation called ‘Add new keywords’ If someone clicked to apply it, or if your account was set to automatically apply recommendations Google could have added keywords to your account.
It’s generally better to not allow Google to auto apply recommendations and evaluate their recommendations based on what you know about your business.
You can check if your account is set to auto-apply recommendations in the account settings in your Google Ads account.
