  • Can I Use Client Website Data For Content Marketing?

Posted by seohelper on February 25, 2021 at 2:13 pm

I’m looking to start doing more content marketing for the agency I work for to get online coverage and build links, and I want to use my e-commerce clients website analytics to do a data driven story.

Can I use their data without their permission if I keep them anonymous?

Not ethically unless data use is in your contract agreement.

If you want to be fired and the ecommerece company to sue you or the agency go for it.

No, but you can browse through your competitors’ websites and social media profiles to find out what their content strategy looks like. Collect data on their most popular topics and content formats, communication style, and level of engagement. You can use this data to make your content strategy more effective.
