    Can anyone share a landing page that impressed you. Roofing/home improvement

    I am working on a roofing landing page right now.

    Hero section

    • 6 step contact form (user can see it has 6 steps so they know how many questions to answer
    • keywords that user is searching for (service + location)
    • Video (not sure what type of video I want to do yet. Probably biz owner talking about roofing)

    Next section: Trust signals, badges, awards.

    next section: google, yelp, facebook reviews

    next section: interactive service map where they can zoom in to see all the projects we've worked on on their area.

    Next section: maybe a showcase of roofs we've done. or a section on the services we offer.

    What are your thoughts? Can you show me any landing pages that really impressed you?

    I’ve got a couple of thoughts:

    A 6-step form sounds long. It’s been my experience that a simple contact form: name, email, phone and a spot to write something in converts well.

    You’ve got a lot of trust building sections:

    * video
    * badges
    * reviews
    * map
    * showcase

    That’s all good because you want to build trust, but you need to build 4 kinds of trust. Before a visitor will make contact they must believe:

    * That you do the thing they’re looking for.
    * That you’re able to do what they want.
    * That working with you is likely to be pleasant.
    * That you’ll respond to their enquiry.

    If your trust building sections all focus on just one type of trust you get fewer conversions than if you build all four types of trust.

    Here’s my approach to building landing pages. I’ve used this to generate just over 2 million leads from Google Ads in the last 19 years. I recently redesigned a landing page for a roofing client in Scotland, with a nearly 40% increase in conversion rate.

    Can’t share the page here but you can DM me for more on that.

    Some thoughts for home services. Keep it simple and to the point. If visitors feel like you’re trying to be salesy they lose trust fast. You have the right idea about showing the owner talking about their work, ideally they are on site on a project.

    In the hero section, simple headline with location, also show your rating on google/yelp (especially if its over 4.8) and see if you can include more trust factors like guarantees, years of exp etc.

    We went with a simple form with 5 fields. 6 step seems like it would have too much friction so maybe A/B test a simple version

    You also want to have a benefit section, address their concerns about your workers, professionalism, quality of work, even things like cleaning up after yourselves can move the needle. You could showcase a recent project with a strong customer testimonial to address these concerns.

    The rest of the page can be pretty standard for home services, make sure it loads fast and is fully responsive on mobile. Showcase some more projects with before/afters and you should get a pretty good CR.
