CallRail Call Tracking – Manager pushes back every time.

Posted by seohelper on April 8, 2021 at 12:54 pm

I have been pushing to use Callrail at my company for years but my manager always pushes back. Sais Callrail might work for my small independent ad agency but we do not know how it will work with a national advertiser with large call centers.

I say the call centers don’t come into play as we are just rerouting the calls via the call tracking platform. Am i missing something? What can other players like Dialogtech or Marchex provide that Callrail cannot?

I have been pushing Callrail because 1, I have used them and 2, they are not expensive like some of the enterprise options mentioned above. How can I sell this to my team?

Not exactly the answer you are looking for, but having used both CallRail and Dialogtech, I would not recommend CallRail for larger nationwide call tracking campaigns.

I currently work at a company that uses CallRail and we have about 30,000 – 50,000 calls per month that go through CallRail. Any reporting or data exporting simply does not work well with CallRail when you have a high volume of calls.

For instance, I cannot load 1 month’s worth of data in a call log dashboard in CallRail. I also can’t export it to a csv without it timing out. My only option is to go into my account and do a bulk export request which only allows me to select which month I would like to download (no custom date range). But the worst part is that it takes me anywhere from 20 mins – several days to get the data file from CallRail (I’m not kidding about several days).

Because of this, our developers are working with the CallRail API so we can store call details on our own server. But it really makes any reporting/analysis a pain in the ass.

There’s also some core essentials missing like scheduled email reports (though I’ve been told it’s coming soon) and the ability to share custom reports.

I haven’t had any issues like this with Dialogtech, and think it’s worth the cost for accounts with a high call volume.

CallRail not expensive? Tell that to my credit card bills.
