Working with a furniture company who are super successful but have only developed an online presence this year with my help. We are looking to get some influencers to promote products but they would like some sort of method of tracking how much value each influencer brings to the business. Although I explained social media can be tricky as they might bring in 50 new followers, and each of those followers may purchase something 6 months to even years later.

They do already use Google analytics so not sure if something can be implemented here, we’ve also discussed coupon codes for each influencer.

Coupon codes are a good route. You could also send them to a unique landing page and setup a conversion funnel through there to gauge traffic quality.

Depends on what you want to track. If you’re looking to use influencers to drive sales then GTM codes or a coupon code are fine.

If you’re looking to track follower growth, engagement rates, etc, then Google Analytics isn’t a great spot to track that and you’d have to do a bunch of extra work to pull it in there.
