I have been working on improving the backlink profile of my website and I am wondering what the best practice is in regards to the random backlinks that appear from what appear to me to be spammy sites. They are usually no follow links from sites in somewhere in Asia and the pages are just full of links to random websites, sometimes niche related sometimes totally random. They provide zero traffic. I understand how dofollow backlinks from niche relevant, high DA domains can help but am unclear as the the effect of these nofollow links, good or bad or otherwise.

I know you can ask for the link to be removed and disavow these links in GSC but am not sure what is the best practice. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Chill out buddy. Google is smart enough in 2021 to undertake these links and devaluate it. For the safer side you can audit your backlink profile every 2 months and disarow it. It’s simply precautions is better than cure scenario.

But focus on earning quality backlink. That will help you a lot.

Simple: don’t disavow except if you’re hit by a penalty.

Focus on your own link building

Don’t disavow unless absolutely necessary, e.g. you see major traffic drops or you’re hit by a penalty.

    Keep building quality links.
