I just launched my site a few days ago (9 days as of Mar 2)

Google started indexing my site right away, but when I uploaded a new sitemap.xml it seems to have halted it. I’m not complaining because I am getting massive traffic in nine days. It’s a directory similar to Angi’s List, but targeted to a specific trade. The plan is to expand into other trades as well in the coming weeks once I get this generating revenue.

I can’t seem to upload screenshots, so here’s what I have:

    41.5k imp

    141 click

    .3% CTR

    34 page rank avg

My question is why Google stopped indexing after 2.7% of crawling my website.

I know I’m asking for a lot of Google, crawling my entire website. But they started and did 800 pages in a matter of three days. Then it stopped for the last few days. Nothing has happened since.

I still have almost 29,000 pages left.

I think my metrics are doing really good. And for my directory, I am ranking first spot on some long tail keywords. But I’m just wondering if only indexing this small of an amount on my website is preventing me from getting higher overall scores. Any advice?

I’ve tried reloading my sitemap. Don’t know what else I can do, but the indexing process only shows 4K pages. Meanwhile the uploaded sitemap shows all 29k pages

didn’t stop. it has only been 9 days. I wouldn’t trust any analytics for impressions or clicks for the first 3-6 months. very volatile at first. sort of meaningless for the time being
