Are You Safe on Free WiFi? Real Attack Simulation Explained
I recently tried a simple experiment to understand how public WiFi traps actually work in real life.
I created a basic WiFi portal setup (similar to what you see in cafes, airports, etc.) and tested how easily people enter their login details without thinking twice.
What surprised me was how realistic these fake portals can look — and how quickly someone might trust them.
This made me realize how risky public WiFi can be if you're not careful.
I’ve explained the full process, risks, and how to stay safe in a simple way here:
Curious to know — have you ever connected to a public WiFi without checking its authenticity?
