Are responsive add the only option available now??

Posted by seohelper on August 11, 2021 at 6:19 pm

I have just finished Isaac Rudenskys (apologies if spelling is wrong!) AdWords course on Udemy and the actual ad writing part seems completely useless to me now. I literally have no option to “manually” write an ad. Can anyone help here please.

Responsive ads are not the only option! You should be able to find a “switch back to text ads link” (albeit hidden). This is usually at the top or bottom of the ad writing screen. That said, I have found that when building a fresh campaign that link may not be present. In that case, save and publish without ads (or make one temporary rsa if it doesn’t let you save). Then navigate to the ads section, click the plus, and then responsive search ad. From there, you should see the link to switch at the top or bottom of the screen ?

With that said, you also should set up at least one responsive search ad when setting up new campaigns as I anticipate sometime soon Google will fully switch over.

    I hope this helps!

You can still create ETAs in the google ads editor also. BUT pretty sure ETAs will be deprecated soon. When that happens, you should be able to use the pinning feature to have control over ad copy.

You can also make changes in Ads Editor

    Another workaround:
You can create a regular expanded text ad by copying another ad from a different ad group.

No, but it may be soon. Click to initiate the creation of a responsive ad and you’ll see an option to “switch back” to ETAs.
