Are backlinks still that important?
Posted by on October 29, 2025 at 11:03 pmI am curious about this, mainly cus I HATE hunting for backlinks and second I have gotten quite sucessfull without any high authority backlink to my site.
As of now I am getting between 40 and 70 clicks from google daily and rank high on quite a few keywords (Avg overall position 9) with around 1.5k impressions daily. But I don't have a strong backlink profile, my highest backlink has an authority score of only 20. My website is 10 months old btw
So my question is, how imporant are they truly? I feel like I am doing fine without, but I am considering investing time in it to accelerate progress even further.
That comes with another question tho, how the f** does one get many backlinks without spending money? Cold outreach has almost never worked for me, and I feel like not many websites accept guest posting anymore or charge for it. What are some other strategies I could attempt? I am a bit lost in the backlink world

They are still the #1 ranking factor. Other than that, no they are not important at all.

I don’t do backlinks either, and all my websites are doing well without them. But I had to wait a long 6 months to see any results.

Can’t show up on Google News without them, so yes, they are very important.

It’s super important especially if you sell them.
