Anyone have experience with Google Ads in the MENA region?

Posted by mrbrtawi on September 23, 2025 at 11:15 am

I have been running Google ads in the MENA region and the competition is literally non existent in the PPC realm, I don't mean the big companies, I mean for local and small to mid sized eCommerce businesses, for example I got 500 conversions for a delivery company for less than $1k, that is massively unheard of in highly competitive markets.

    Let me know your thoughts/experiences.

Can be very lucrative for the right product. A lot of international advertisers overlook it (and other lesser developed countries) because they don’t think the consumer base or purchasing power exists.

There are challenges though – language, processing payments (don’t get me started on sharia banks and merchant codes), a large % of low value leads (need to pass through value to your ad platforms).

I’ve got some insight into this region from working with PPC people to set up Google Ads conversion tracking for WhatsApp. It feels like there is a lot of opportunity right now – a young market comfortable using the internet and not a lot of advertising. Anyone running ads there is going to have a few good years.

I live and work majorly in the mena region. There is competition and advertising cost can be pretty high depending on your niche

Scale spend gradually while tightening geo targeting and language settings then layer audience exclusions to maintain cheap conversions before larger players raise CPCs.
