  • Any insight into LinkedIn audience data?

Know LinkedIn has always been airtight with 3rd party data sources, unlike Twitter which you can get from many vendors.

But now in 2020 does anyone have any resources that can help scale LinkedIn audience insights outside of LinkedIn itself? Maybe some kind of Microsoft integration?

Nothing at this point. They want to keep that data on the platform. Their API has always been limited and mostly push rather than pull. I don’t see that changing.

Honestly, Twitter is really the only one that allows such and it’s largely because of their 3rd party integration. They’re really the only social network that allows such freedom. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc don’t allow 3rd party apps in nearly the same way that Twitter does.

Post-GDPR, it is unlikely LinkedIn would gamble with 3rd party access to their data given that people’s profiles tend to be more grounded with real information on LinkedIn, where as Twitter’s anonymity is notorious. It is one of the biggest gripes about LinkedIn that agencies have, but from a business perspective, closing the book on APIs around member data was an extremely good decision for the platform, which is why it is considered the most trusted around data protection.
