Hi everybody, I have an animal rescue specializing in rabbits, guinea pigs, and ferrets. We have an Adoptapet page but it never comes up a search for adoptable pets in the area.

We are desperate to get these animals adopted because we are at capacity and have new calls everyday about someone wanting to surrender their pet to us. We are a no-kill but cannot take in more unless some get adopted. Animals are literally dying because we cannot get much visibility online.

Is there any way we can improve our search rankings, even if we have to pay for it?
    Appreciate any advice…

This would be a great opportunity for the SEO community to help you with

    1. Keyword Research

    2. Adjacent Markets

    3. Local SEO

    Where are you located?

Can anyone here send you backlinks?

SEO would take a lot of time if you have/are not working actively on it.

Better go for ads, insta/tiktok/facebook reels given the time crunch you have

Its a bit of work, but I would say to make sure every pet is on Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, RescueMe, and local Facebook/Nextdoor groups, because those platforms rank far better than any individual rescue site ever will.

Add your rescue to Google Business Profile and post each animal as an “update” with photos and adoption details; those show up in local search within minutes.

IF you can pay for anything, run $5–$10/day local Facebook ads featuring a few pets at a time, rescues get insanely high engagement for almost no cost.

And YOU GUYS ROCK!!!! The fact that you’re still fighting for these animals while overwhelmed says everything about who you are. I hope the visibility picks up fast! Those pets are lucky to have you in their corner.

I’d love to help you. I do SEO and have for over seven years now. No cost for the help. I’ve been wanting to do this for some charities for a while. My day job I don’t really work in industries I care about.

Charities also get something like $10,000 from Google to run PPC. I can help you get that set up.
