An overnight drop in ranking of Google my business page!
Posted by on May 6, 2020 at 1:02 pmMy wife’s google my business page used to be at 1st rank when searching for her category. Suddenly as of this morning, it is not even in the top 10. There seems to be no issue with the page, we did not change anything in it nor are there any errors or unresolved issues in the my business control panel.
Could anyone suggest any reason for this to happen?
Also how do we go about correcting the same?

Perhaps you haven’t come across the recent May Google Update.
There maybe certain things that Google is expecting in its new update which you might be lacking currently.
Wait for the SEO expert to give in a review of the recent update. Then, accordingly and obviously you’ll have to make the changes!
Also, this can be a temporary loss which mostly happens after a core update is released. Give it some time, might get your rankings back as it was before.

If it’s your local GMB rankings it’s not the core update.
However there was a map update last week that did this exact thing to one of my clients. A dozen phrases he is consistently top 3 he dropped.
It lasted about 4 or 5 days, then Monday most phrases returned and yesterday the rest did.
The moral of my story is – don’t do anything. Just wait and watch. Your page might be going through some sort of algorithmic update.
