  • Am I targeting difficult keywords, or is my SEO bad?

Posted by freecodeio on August 20, 2024 at 4:08 pm

According to my SpyFu reports, I'm targeting keywords with around 20-100 monthly search volume and a KD of less than 10.

My website is 4 years old with a 40 DA. My articles are only appearing on pages 9 to 11.

So my question is: Is this normal, and I'm actuallly supposed to target even lower kd and seaarch volume as a small business, or are the keywords fine, meaning my SEO/content is bad?

Thank you for your insight in advance!

your site is old enough and has good authority to rank for easy keywords… Your keyword choices look fine… The problem might be with how you’ve set up your pages or the quality of your content…. Try improving your existing articles….

It’s too early to question yourself. SEO today is quite unpredictable. You keep trying keywords for which you can create better content compared to the competition. And then promote it on other channels as well (don’t just rely on SEO).

Even experienced SEO folks these days can’t be absolutely sure if their SEO skills are much good now. So, try different things and see what gets you traction. And then double down on it. Be empirical about it.

Id recommend putting a link on here to your content and asking for feedback. It might be something glaringly obvious to a fresh set of eyes.
