    Hello,

If I’m breaking any community rules, I apologize.

I was recently asked by a creative marketing firm to submit 5 videos that they can use for an advertising campaign. It was a simple enough request:

The product is a video app that I use frequently. They asked for a total of 5 deliverables.

    1. Short testimonial about the product
    2. A little longer testimonial about the product
    3. Short voiceover explaining the product
    4. Short clip of an existing video I’ve already created
    5. Any length clip of an existing video I’ve already created.

4&5 were already created previously and 1,2 and 3 were pretty much completed within an hour of recording, editing, etc… since they were short.

The deal is $10 per item ($50 for the entire project)

This is my very first type of work in this field. I wouldn’t really consider myself an “influencer” by any means and have about 500 followers, so I don’t think I have any leverage on that end. Still, it’s my endorsement of a product and I put creative energy into those videos.

Is this a fair price considering all of those factors? Or am I being played? Just have zero idea if I’m even in the same ball park of the standard.

    Thanks!

I mean… Maybe. How much time went into this? More than an hour or two?

If you were doing this professionally I’d say you need to be charging a lot more, but as a one-off it’s not… Terrible.

I think you are underselling yourself by a large margin. While yes the market is kinda flooded with talent if you have other good examples of your work i think that’s a drastic exploitation of talent.

I can’t speak your quality of work or how it might compare to other standards. If you found a way to do it cheap and efficient then by all means continue. Ultimately posts like these need to set you on a path to a business mindset more than it needs to validate your prices.
