  • Ahrefs keywords positions are very outdated

I'm checking positions for a website using ahrefs. Many of the keywords weren't updated for weeks, some weren't updated since mid-August (today is October 1 for those who reads the post later). Is this normal? It doesn't make any sense, taking into account the volatility of some commercial keywords. How about other SEO tools, do they lag that much too? I'm even thinking about vibe coding a script that will export these keywords from our search console and build this kind of result table.

ps: I'm attaching a screenshot with the Updated column high-lighted in the comments, can't add screenshots here.

Yeah Ahrefs rank tracker can lag a lot, especially on lower-volume terms. SEMrush and SerpRobot tend to update faster, but nothing beats pulling straight from GSC if you want fresh data. Your script idea actually sounds like the cleanest solution.

Yep I’ve been noticing this too. Lots of keywords not updated for months and completely inaccurate. What’s going on, Ahrefs? This shit is unusable.

Yeah, Ahrefs can lag on updates sometimes. I’ve had better luck with semrush for fresher keyword position data especially if you need daily tracking.

That’s not the rank tracker tool in ahrefs, that’s just their database of historical rankings. You have to manually enter the keywords you want to track lmao.
