I subscribe to AHREFS and monitor several websites with the tool. This evening, I received an email from them with their list of warnings for a site I manage, and see in the email, a "Pages have high AI content levels."

I click on that and there is one page it claims it has detected high AI Content.

The funny to me thing is I hand-crafted the content on that page, back in 2022 – long before I even knew about AI. I created it.

AI had nothing to do with it.

Anyone else experience things like this?

Yeah these detectors are basically coin flips. They look for patterns like low perplexity and consistent sentence structure which… is also just how a competent writer sounds when they know their subject well.

The irony is if you ran most of Ahrefs’ own blog through an AI detector it would probably flag half of it too. Formal, well-structured writing triggers the same signals.

I wouldn’t worry about it. Google has said repeatedly they care about quality not whether AI was involved. The Ahrefs warning is more of a “hey we built this feature” than anything you need to act on.

Making a mountain out of a molehill.

This is a document I wrote myself, and even Grammarly was complaining.

Don’t worry about third-party tools; worry about GSC.

Step 1: Stop being scammed by ahrefs.

    Step 2: Profit.

AI content detectors are a scam.

Google stated many times that they don’t care if your content is human or AI-written. The fact that SEO tools push those features is laughable.

Yeah, please ignore it, and I really don’t know why they have launched this feature, because most of the AI detection tools technically either are false reporting it or didn’t have a good base. There is no way to validate it really well, so it’s a wasted feature that I think should be ignored.
