  • Age Restriction on a Twitter Business Account?

Hi folks. We run a Twitter account for our business and one of our business partners runs an account with age restriction, and we’d like to follow them.

I’d rather not enter some made up birthday on this official account, as such info is likely to get lost (if it’s not real) in a turnover some day. Using the business’ start date would make us too “young” to follow the 18+ business partner. Any suggestions?

Hah, this is such a glaring problem with Twitter right now. They need to comply with age requirement rules such as COPPA and yet, business profiles don’t really fall under those rules. I don’t know a good answer here but maybe if you have a business relationship with Twitter you can complain about it to your rep.

I do know if you put a birthday that makes your account under thirteen years of age on its join date, your account automatically gets locked. See /r/Twitter for the perennial “My Twitter account was locked” threads about this problem.
