  • Advertising on Bing or Google?

Posted by seohelper on March 20, 2021 at 11:36 pm

My website (local directory) has seen an increase in traffic from Bing, almost as much as Google. I have more pages ranked on the first page of Bing than that of google. I know that majority of users use google. If I was to advertise (limited budget), should I advertise on Bing rather than Google since my pages rank higher? Google has the same high authority websites ranked on the first page already therefore, it’s more difficult for me to rank on first page.

You should advertise on both, ideally, IF people in your industry/location are using them, but really the only way to find out the answers is to test. Run ads for 1-2 weeks on google, then run them on bing. Bing actually makes it easy to import your ads straight from google, no changes needed, so it should be a few clicks and good to go.

I’d recommend starting with Google to find what works best. Bing has an automated import feature for your Google ads.

Once you can increase budget a bit it only takes a few minutes to mirror your campaigns to Bing with automatic syncing. You can also set a % of ad spend within the setup wizard and your Bing ads will adjust budgets accordingly.
