Ads are not showing after switching to Maximum Conversions

Posted by Individual_Text_423 on August 21, 2025 at 2:03 pm

Why did ads stop showing after switching from maximum clicks to maximum conversions? What could be the problem and how can it be solved?

When you switch from a Clicks Strategy to a Conversions Strategy (Smart Bidding), your campaign will go into Learning.

You need to let it rest (aka don’t do changes) for a few days, and then it will start showing again.

The same happens when you increase your budget drastically, but it takes slightly shorter than switching campaign types.

I run Google Ads for Service Businesses, and switch campaigns from Manual CPC to Max Conversions all the time. These have taken from 3 days to over a week. The important thing is to let it rest, otherwise learning resets.

Your campaign is in learning right now. Also, are you checking by Googling your ad or trying to get it to trigger and show? If so, that’s not the best way to go about it. After a while Google won’t serve it to you.

Bid strategy needs time to adjust. Give it 3+ days.

Usually the campaign should continue to serve and spend your budget but sometimes Google will effectively throttle it in learning mode. This can last for more than a week sometimes, but by then you should start to see impressions slowly ramp up with normal spending within 2-weeks.

It’s not fun and Google doesn’t acknowledge this… I’ve seen it many many times.
