  • A question on the actual costs.

I wanted to know the actual costs of running a social media company.

The server costs are immediately obvious.

If the designer and builder are founders….what other costs will have to be borne?

It depends on your business model. Personally I think the algorithm + advert model needs to go.

Server costs depends on how the app is designed, and who you’re hosting with.

As you build more features, you will have to stabilize old ones. That’s more devs. Having a good server administrator or two are needed once you get bigger.

I built a Facebook alternative site and besides my time and server costs there’s really nothing else
