I once suggested this to Twitter for solving the bot problem after I kept getting fake “likes”:

“An incentive for the paid Twitter membership?
”I purchased the monthly membership hoping it would stop fake “likes” like below. It didn’t work. Could Twitter add as an option to only see paid member’s likes, retweets, and comments?”
“This would serve as an incentive to purchase paid membership to have this option but even more so to others due to fear their likes or comments would not be seen by those you are replying to when they turn on this option.”

This has the benefit of encouraging real users to buy memberships. But another key benefit is cutting down on bots: the bot creators make thousands of the fake accounts. They couldn’t afford to do this if they had to pay for each of them otherwise they would all be ignored, unread.

Bots buy accounts check marks already. X Premium subscription, which unlocks these monetization features

It was better before when only verified people could have check marks.

If you really want to fight it make people have to use id.me or other verified methods to prove your real.
