Like any creative endeavor, ad creation has some pitfalls. Here are some tips to help you avoid mucking up your Facebook ads…

    1. Always Have Captions
I’ve seen ads where the viewer (including myself) has no idea what’s going on when they have the sound off. Rather than expecting every viewer to turn their sound on, just add captions.

    2. Get to the Point in the First 3 Seconds
This one is self explanatory. Your ad needs to get to the point, quickly, if you want to keep the viewer from getting bored.

    3. Be Clear, Rather Than Clever
If you can come up with a witty ad that also gets the point across without wasting time, then that’s awesome! Just make sure you’re not sacrificing the clarity of your message for some cute or funny spectacle.

    4. Keep it concise
I think we’ve all seen ads that are close to two minutes (or longer) that are a total drag to sit through. What’s worse is when you can’t even tell what the product is. Keep your ads clear and concise. To put a timebox on it, ads should ideally be less than 30 seconds.

    Those Are the Golden Rules
Just like everything in life that’s worthwhile, learning how to create fun, engaging ads while remaining clear and concise takes time.

I hope that these tips will help you navigate the world of Facebook ads with more confidence and creativity.

I love this advice, but how do you deal with managers/clients who don’t believe you when you give this advice no matter how much evidence is presented

    Eye catchy visuals

Visuals grab the attention of a person while they are scrolling through their respective news feeds. To effectively reach people, you should ace the game of visual attraction and in a fraction of seconds. Visuals are what excites a photoreceptor cell more than a ‘bland’ paragraph of text.

    Keep it relevant.

Advertisers spend thousands of their hard earned money and time to attract traffic or make a sale but as long as the ad is not relevant, as long as it doesn’t resonate with the audience, the ad doesn’t stand a chance.

    Give them a reason.

Give your audience a reason to engage with your advertisement. Give them the “why” which will persuade them to click on your ad.

    Call to action.

To engage your audience, include a clear call to action button with a relevant action. The ad might generate a lot of interest but without a call to action button, the business opportunity will be lost. Pass a sense of urgency through the call to action buttons.
