Hello SEO redditors! Been a while since I last posted here.

We got a client that is a Government agency for tourism in one region here in our country. We are still waiting to get approval for a .gov domain so we created a .ph website for now but it is the official website of the government agency,

It’s been three months since the website got live and it is still not ranking yet even for the government agency name. Does Google have a policy for this? Does it really have to be a .gov domain before we can get any traction?

Yes but if youre on the other pages the problem is google and not you. If youre not on bing you need backlinks.

Have you used Moz free tools to check your site’s stats? You can also use the reports to see what keywords you are ranking for (and then be able to make changes to rank for the ones you want).

I’ve had sites rank in pages 1-2 in days, so there is definitely something not aligned with the site and the search.

Not indexing at all, or just not ranking well? Big difference. Sorry to be specific about the terminology, but it’s important.

Have your build some Press release or foundation links? If not, create some. It’ll give boost to your rankings.

Check your robots.txt if you allow crawlers? Are you able to index links on google search console?

How about sitemap? Does Google have a sitemap of your website?
