The Instants glitch is bad but the encryption thing is what actually matters long term. Disappearing messages mean nothing if the data never left their servers to begin with. People focus on the UI disaster and miss the bigger issue sitting right underneath it.
Signal is the right call. Has been for a while. The problem is convincing people to use it when everyone’s already on IG and Snap and switching feels like too much friction for most relationships.
The SnapLion stuff is genuinely underreported too. That tool existing should’ve been a much bigger story.
