I’m in-house, a one-person team handling all the marketing – SEO, website updates, blogs, social (primarily LinkedIn), paid ads, and content. I wish I had more hours in the day to actually dive further into our SEO, but I’ve been starting a new system of having an SEO task list at the start of every week – technical items, strategy to-dos, etc.
We have a weekly marketing meeting (myself, my boss, and our head of presales (who served as de facto marketing manager before I got here) where I go over current projects, updates, items I need approval/feedback on, and what’s next.
I compile detailed quarterly reports showcasing all of the marketing efforts, including a section for SEO. I walk through those with bossman.
In general, I’m a fan of shareable dashboards (which also help me find data I’m looking for quicker), and then a more detailed doc or report on a monthly or quarterly basis. I use Looker Studio and have one dashboard for each of our websites – separate pages for an overview (big picture web stats), content (top pages, blogs), behavior (events, downloads, etc), Traffic (referrals, campaigns, etc), and SEO (rank tracking, AI visibility, etc)
