Honestly, blogging in 2026 is a completely different beast. It’s definitely not dead, but the ‘golden era’ of just writing some SEO-optimized fluff and ranking easily is long gone. I’m still seeing good traffic, but it’s no longer just about Google Search, it’s about being where the actual people are.
From my experience lately, sharing real ”first attempts” or even failures gets way more traction than perfect guides. I had a random post today hit over 6k views in just a few hours because it sparked a real conversation. That kind of community traffic is way more valuable than generic search hits these days.
Is it worth it? Yeah, but only if you actually enjoy the community aspect and building trust. If you’re just in it for quick ad revenue, it’s going to be a long, frustrating road. It feels more like building a ‘home’ for your ideas now than just a site for clicks.
