I have yet to see any indication that audiences want, or will accept, platforms and feeds that are filled with GenAI content. While the ‘tools’ get better, audience disposition hasn’t changed, they don’t want it, they don’t like it, and when they find out that its used on something they like, it tanks any trust they had.
GenAI *does not and will not* level the playing field for small artists. These are free tools **for now**, but make no mistake, the goal is to get people using their service, then start dialing up the price once they are locked in to the service. This has happened to every other ‘content creation’ tool, it will happen to VEO, ChatGPT, and everything else.
What will level the playing field? I want to be able to audit social media metrics to verify payouts on systems like Adsense. I want to be able to submit a copyright notice and get an actual response, even if I am not spending 6 figures a year on a platform’s Enterprise Service. GenAI? That’s not something designed to make any of us money.
